WASHINGTON — The Black Economic Alliance, a nonpartisan group founded by Black executives and business leaders, announced today that Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) will join top-tier 2020 candidates in the Presidential Candidates Forum taking place in South Carolina. Scheduled to take place in less than six weeks, the event will highlight candidates’ proposed policies impacting economic progress for Black Americans.

“The Black Economic Alliance is excited to announce that Senator Warren will participate in our presidential candidate forum in Charleston, joining Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) as confirmed participants,” said Akunna Cook, Executive Director of the Black Economic Alliance. “Warren has elevated important economic issues within the Black community, including expanded access to homeownership. We look forward to her joining other top presidential candidates next month to share her proposed policies to advance work, wages, and wealth in Black communities.”

In addition to the four confirmed candidates, the Black Economic Alliance has sent invitations to U.S. Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA), Bernie Sanders (D-VT), and former Vice President Joe Biden. To qualify for an invitation, candidates need to reach 3 percent of support among voters in early-state polls.
