Ad is running in five key battleground states; BET to amplify across channels

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Black Economic Alliance (BEA),a nonpartisan group of Black business leaders and aligned advocates, released a digital ad, “The Table,” targeting infrequent Black male voters in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The ad is here and the script is below.

The ad will run on YouTube and all major connected TV networks, including Paramount, Warner Brothers, and NBC Universal. As part of BEA and BET’s election-season partnership, “The Table” will also run across BET’s platforms, further expanding the spot’s reach among the target demographic.

“BEA is executing a comprehensive program to mobilize Black men in states where the Black vote will be decisive this election cycle – reaching them with the messages and messengers we know will resonate,” said BEA CEO Samantha Tweedy. “We are speaking directly to this critical voting bloc, who we know care most about their elected officials prioritizing lowering costs, raising wages, and building generational wealth — issues that the Black Economic Alliance has been leading on for years. ”

“The Table” is grounded in a recent poll and focus groups commissioned by BEA — conducted by Lake Research and HIT Research,* respectively — that shows economic issues are the top 4 issues driving Black male voters, above immigration, abortion, and national security. The same poll found that Black business leaders are the most trusted messengers on those issues and tested significantly higher (13 points) than the next highest messenger.

The ad complements BEA’s recently announced texting program, which is also focused on mobilizing infrequent Black voters in key battleground states with economic messages from business leaders.

The Table:

As successful Black businessmen,  we know what it is to work twice as hard to earn a seat at the table.
And if there aren’t enough chairs, we build our own. For that, we need tools…
Affordable housing to rent AND to own.
A livable wage…to thrive not just survive.
Job training and investment in black-owned businesses.
Now that’s a true opportunity economy.
Democratic principles, Democrat priorities.
Let’s get it done. Vote by November 5th.

*Survey conducted by Lake Research Partners from August 7-19, 2024, of 1,700 registered voters nationwide (911 Black voters) — including a sample of 800 registered voters in the base, a sample of 800 Black registered voters, and an oversample of 100 Latino/a registered voters nationwide.
